Athletic Coaching
CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
This certificate will prepare/educate the student for occupational coaching at various levels from youth to middle school into high school and even collegiate levels. Coaching theory and safe program design will be emphasized. This certificate is designed for individuals wishing to become employed as an Athletic Coach in a recreational or educational setting.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Apply theoretical and scientific knowledge from the subdisciplines in kinesiology as it relates to the coaching industry.
- Demonstrate an understanding of sport and exercise safety, injury prevention, and basic injury treatment.
- Employ skills to work independently in the coaching industry with the ability to lead individuals and teams in athletic practice and competition and identify the business aspects of the coaching industry.
