Elementary Korean I

Total Contact Hours: 90 Lecture / 18 Laboratory

This beginning course develops the ability to understand, read, write and speak Korean at a basic level. It is designed for those who have limited or no prior knowledge of Korean. Students will learn fundamentals of pronunciation, grammar, basic vocabulary, and useful phrases. The course includes basic facts on the geography, customs and cultures of Korea. This course is equivalent to two years of high school instruction.

Elementary Korean II

Class Hours: 5.0 Lecture / 1.0 Laboratory
Total Contact Hours: 90 Lecture / 18 Laboratory

Prerequisite: KOREAN 101 or equivalent with a grade of "C" or Higher or "Pass".
Students continue to develop the ability to understand, read, write and speak Korean at a proficiency novice-high level. Students will also further the fundamentals of pronunciation, grammar, complex vocabulary, geography, and customs and cultures of Korea.
