CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY

The GED Test Preparation (Non-Credit) Certificate of Completion will strengthen a student’s pre-college skills to be successful in the GED Test/HiSET Test. This certificate is designed to provide instruction in pre-college math, writing, and reading. The GED/HiSET examination includes social studies, science, reading, writing, and math. In today’s workforce, having a high school certificate or a high school diploma is required for many employment positions and to transition to college-level programs. In addition, our program skills are necessary to maintain the most sustainable jobs.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

  • GED students will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing by constructing a persuasive essay.
  • GED students will analyze and interpret U.S. history and functions of government through non-fiction reading.
  • GED students will apply number sense and operations to solve math word problems.
