Learning and Career Pathways (LCPs) are broad clusters of related majors that are grouped together based on similarities across educational and career interests. They were designed to help students narrow down their interests early in their academic careers and decide on a major. All of the degree and certificate programs offered at Cerritos College have been grouped into one of these LCPs to help students stay on track with their educational journey.

Applied Technology & Skilled Trades

Are you action-oriented and prefer practical, hands-on experiences? Do you like working with tools, equipment, or machinery? How about designing, building, and repairing things your community needs? Programs in this LCP prepare students for getting jobs directly in their field of study whether welding, automotive repair, machine tool technology, cosmetology, engineering technology, woodworking, and much more!

Arts, Humanities, & Communication

Are you creative? Do you enjoy visual or performing arts? How about reading, analyzing literature, thinking critically, or communicating through speech or writing? Students pursuing programs in this LCP develop highly valued transferable skills preparing them for careers related to visual, applied, and performing arts; TV and film; working in the media; journalism; and public sector, non-profit, and advocacy work.

Business, Accounting, & Law

Are you interested in business organizations and developing practical skills that move you toward a well-paid career? Programs in this LCP provide an opportunity to learn how to manage human and financial resources to generate profits and build value for businesses and individuals through studying business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, management, business communications, office technology, paralegal studies, and law.

Education & Human Services

Do you enjoy teaching, learning, and collaborating? Do you want to inspire others and help them learn and grow? Programs in this LCP are designed for students who want to advocate for the welfare of children, leverage technology to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning, or are considering careers as teachers, administrators, or assistants in a variety of educational settings.

Health Sciences & Wellness

Do you find yourself coaching others toward active lifestyles and eating healthy? Are you drawn to helping people to achieve healthy outcomes or physical and psychosocial well-being? Programs in this LCP are ideal for students interested in fitness and wellness or careers in healthcare practice and support such as nurses, dental hygienists, medical or dental assistants, nutritionists, physical therapist assistants, and so much more!

Science, Engineering & Math

Does solving technical or abstract problems appeal to you? Do you like thinking of new ways to do things and performing intellectually challenging tasks? Students pursuing programs in this LCP engage in discovery and the development of new ideas while preparing for careers in the natural sciences, engineering, computer science, working in labs, data science, and the medical field.

Social & Behavioral Sciences

Are you fascinated by people, society, and institutions or curious about human cognition, behavior, and relationships? How about the ways in which the world is interconnected? Programs in this LCP reflect an interest in how societies and people change over time and prepare students for a wide range of careers in which understanding human behavior and/or diverse cultures and societies is an asset.
