International Baccalaureate (IB)
Overview
Cerritos College will provide general education credit for students towards A.A. or A.S. degree (non-ADT) with a minimum score of 4 in selected International Baccalaureate (IB) exams. The student shall be responsible for submitting official IB examination documentation to the Admissions and Records Office to verify test scores.
Any student who passes an IB examination with a minimum score of 4 or 5 in the notated disciplines will be awarded credit in a Cerritos General Education Curriculum (CGEC) area with a subject matter similar to that of the IB examination. Student wishing to apply IB credit towards transfer general education, unit, and major requirements should consult with a Cerritos College counselor.

The IB curriculum offers languages at various levels for native and non-native speakers. Language B courses are offered at the intermediate level for non-native speakers. IB Language A1 and A2 courses are advanced courses in literature for native and non-native speakers, respectively.

If a student passes more than one AP exam in calculus or computer science and/or more than one IB exam in mathematics or computer science, credit for only one exam may be applied to the baccalaureate.
