ASSOCIATE IN ARTS FOR TRANSFER (AA-T)
The Cerritos College Art History Program seeks to provide courses that will fulfill part of the general education requirements for other majors. Our courses are necessary for many students to complete their General Education requirements and for seamless transfer to CSU. The Art History Program is committed to offering required courses to supplement majors in related disciplines, especially Art, Design, and/or Photography majors. For our students’ general knowledge and their own lives, art history and the study of visual culture more generally helps to promote a better understanding of an increasingly complex world and to learn tools to better cope with a rapidly changing cultural environment.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students identify prominent aesthetic, symbolic, and functional features of visual culture.
- Students recognize relationships between visual cultures as evidenced by the similarities and/or differences in aesthetics and symbolic imagery presented.
- Students describe the cultural and historical influences on visual culture.
- Students compose critical analyses of visual culture.
