CNC Woodworking (CERT)

CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
The CNC Woodworking certificate option prepares students for entry-level employment in the woodworking industry, including cabinetmaking, furniture-making, sign-making, and related fields. Students learn to use leading CAD/CAM and cabinet design software (Alphacam and Cabinet Vision) to program and operate CNC equipment. Graduates are employed as CNC programmers and CNC machine operators. Computer skills, spatial intelligence, cognitive ability, and eye-hand coordination are recommended for those entering the program.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students safely and confidently operate CNC equipment to fabricate woodworking products.
- Students construct a face-frame or frameless cabinet project to meet the requirements of specified planning documents.
- Students utilize computer software to create planning documents.
- Students program CNC machines to fabricate cabinet or furniture products efficiently.
