CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
The Commercial Music Production Certificate is designed as a four semester program to provide the technical skills and theoretical background for a career in the audio recording, music production, and audio for film and television industries. Students will learn professional-level recording, editing, mixing, and synthesis techniques.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Execute editing and mixing skills with music technology software through assigned projects.
- Explain terminology and language of music relevant to an issue, composition, or theory.
- Explain copyright, publishing, and income streams associated with the music business.
- Perform basic keyboard proficiency by playing required assignments in piano and musicianship classes.
- Operate and manage a professional recording session with various musicians and instruments in indoor and outdoor venues.
- Identify and describe music structures including chords, scales, and harmonic progressions.
