CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
This certificate prepares bilingual students to acquire an understanding of Hispanic cultures and literature to attain fluency in the Spanish language in all areas: speaking, reading and comprehension, and writing. In addition, students will enhance their critical thinking skills, and will be introduced to a variety of Latinx authors. Likewise, it will prepare students to face various professional opportunities that require the Spanish language in the workplace.
This certificate is a steppingstone that brings students closer to transfer to a four-year university as it provides the required core for the AA-T in Spanish. Therefore, students who successfully complete the certificate will be able to communicate competence at an advanced conversational and writing level.

- Students identify the important writers of the literary and philosophical Hispanic tradition.
- Students recognize the various elements of Hispanic culture
- Students comprehend philosophical, historical, and fictional works in Spanish
