Education: Special Education (A.A.)
ASSOCIATE OF ARTS
For students interested in exploring the field of special education, planning to transfer and earn a special education teaching credential, or are interested in furthering their development as professionals already working in an educational setting with special populations.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Facilitate undergraduate access of any major to fundamental knowledge and experience important to working with student with disabilities
- Strengthen the preparation of those interested in working with students with disabilities
- Develop an understanding of the theories and the legal premises upon which special education practices are based
- Evaluate the best practices in creating equitable teaching and learning environments
- Provide a degree pathway for students who would like to become Special Education Teachers
