CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
The Entry Level Quick Service Technician certificate option prepares students for employment as entry-level automotive technicians. Through courses focusing on the mechanical areas of the vehicles, including basics in electrical, suspension, and brakes, students learn how to use specialty equipment and hand tools found in automotive service and repair facilities. Core topics include maintenance and service, automotive electrical systems, suspension and brakes diagnosis, and repair. The design, function, and operation of all these systems are also included in the certificate.
Graduates are employed as entry-level technicians, general service technicians, quick service technicians, tire and brake technicians, apprentice technicians, or are self-employed. Cognitive ability, hand-eye coordination are recommended for those entering the program. This program is designed to give the completer the necessary skills to enter the automotive service industry with the vocabulary and familiarity of automotive technology service areas.
