ASSOCIATE OF ARTS
The Visual and Cultural Studies major combines the breadth of an interdisciplinary major with a special focus on visual media. Its Interdisciplinary structure brings together approaches to visual media and cultural production that would usually be separated by discipline.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Employ methodologies for researching and writing about visual and cultural material
- Demonstrate an understanding of the link between critical theory and research methodology
- Explain how historical, political, social, economic, and cultural movements influence visual and material culture
- Analyze and evaluate the ways in which visual and material culture is shaped by socialization, institutions, and communication media
