Marine Biology
ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE
Upon completion of the Associate of Science in Marine Biology, students will have obtained a fundamental understanding of the principles within marine biology and the scientific process. Students will be able to demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills within the marine biology discipline needed for continuing academic achievement and professional success in this and similar fields.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will identify the major phyla from the marine environments along with the major outgroups of organisms.
- Students apply scientific methodology and reasoning through experimentation, proper lab and field technique, observation, and review of scientific literature.
- Students evaluate ecological relationships at the population, community, and ecosystem level across marine systems.
